Where are they hiding??
Just got back from a 10 day, 6 state, 3500 mile road trip. Saw several Volvo's, but most were newer S60's and XC90s. I only saw 2 850s, one 240, and NO S70's. So where are all the older (and in my opinion better) Volvo's hiding.
Oh yeah, in Yellowstone, the vehicle of choice seems to be a Chevy Traverse of all things. They were crawling all over the place.....Yuk.

Man, the mid '90's Volvo's are becoming extinct. The young and risk takers are killing them by the dozen. Breaking timing belts, driving around with rads leaking (loosing battle), and many are simply afraid to take an old car with over 150,000 miles anywhere. I really wish I could round the rest of them up, tune them up and put them in the hands of trained adventures.

Yeah, mid-nineties automobiles are just not around much in the US.
I personally believe that it has to do with the relatively high maintenance and repair costs associated with these vehicles.
For those who are taking their car to the garage, t-belt change and other routine maintenance is approaching 1k; money that would almost buy a new pair of aluminum heads for say a 5.0 Mustang for axample-
Just a thought...and you're right- mid nineties to 98 WERE the BEST.

Maybe they are all coming here, lol. I live in a little town on the SC/NC border and there are quite a few 850s rolling around, sedans & station wagons (NA and Turbo alike). I would have never thought it being that this is a place where pickup trucks and minivans rule the road! I have had offers for mine as well, which I thought was strange.

I just saw a youtube video of someone crushing a Toyota Previa (we call them a Tarago here) because it needed engine work. The jelly bean shaped Tarago still gets prices of around $15,000 here....even with higher k's
A well looked after 850 here still gets around $9000......
VOLVO 8 50 SE 4D SEDAN - Strathpine - QLD - $ 8,990

I live in Orange County, Southern California and there are ALOT of old Volvo's around here. I cannot go out on a drive without seeing at least one 240 or at least a 740/60, I often see 850s but more frequently see s70's. Almost everyone I see is a GLT or a N/A though, and I've only ever found one other 850 around here that had a spoiler.
