This morning I noticed the heat was working intermittently. It would blow only slightly warm, then cold until I turned the fans off. After a few miles, turning the fan back on, it would blow a little warm for about 15 seconds, then just cold. I was running behind for work, so I haven’t been able to check coolant. The temp gauge was around halfway. Maybe a hair past. I just replaced a battery. That’s the only change in the car.

103k miles and in pretty stellar condition.

Any tips on what to look for? I’m coming from Honda.

 

It was low on coolant. That fixed it.

But I noticed the coolant cap seems to not tighten. It threads down fine, but hits a stop before it feels tight. A plastic piece sticks out to stop from threading too far down. When it hits that, the cap is still loose. This is my first volvo, so that isn’t normal right?
