Default c 30 not always starting

have a c 30 diesel sport 2009 bought new and love it.
I am french but living in UK,( so sorry for spelling and grammar)I sent my car to have a service 2 weeks ago.no issues at all. but 1 week later. the car started but after a light cough just died. it did it during few tries (light smoke also which was scary), then it started again once. I stopped the car and the same things happened again and again, . RAC came and told me it was the pipe that brings air to the motor which was dirty. so he cleaned it but recommended to sent it to the garage to have a deep clean. the car worked fine until I had an appointment with the garage ., the garage did the deep cleaning, apparently, the car was working fine but stopped working again (same issue ) with the garage people at the end of the day. they then changed after the EGR valve, the suction valve on the fuel pump. the car seemed working fine, but after driving for 4 hours the day after with no issues (I stopped a couple of times), between oxford and Plymouth. the same things happened (trying to start but dying slowly). one difference it started the first time after. now I am in France on holiday, and the car is doing the same things but at least working fine when I start a second time, and it doesn t happen all the time. thanks to be brave to have read it so far. any idea, because no message on the computer, only 6 months batterie, and all-electric working fine anyway. and as a french garage told me, if the car working fine on the day they have it, it is not a lot they can do! many thanks to help me if you can
