Hello, all. I am new to the C30 platform and have an issue with mine (2011 C30 T5 R-Design).
So, some background. While on a road trip, something went wrong. The (reputable) mechanic told me that my blow off valve was not working, and I ordered the part. I am aware that the C30 has a part called the CBV, which acts as the blow off valve for the turbo, and it bolts to the turbo. That is the part I ordered. However, he said it was the wrong part, so I went to the shop, where he proceeded to show me this.
As you can see from the picture below, there is an HKS SSQV clone that has been mounted to this pipe here, located in the front of the car, right behind the intercooler and front frame. This "blow off valve" actually has broken and I have been recommended by people to have this removed and replaced with the factory part. However, I am just confused as to what to order. Please help name what I should be ordering to replace this. Thanks!
That actually does help a lot thank you so much. I should have put in my original post that these pipes are not connected to the intercooler (at least I don't think so). Additionally, multiple people have mentioned that it will have a "factory bypass valve" present. I'm sorry if this seems redundant, I'm sort of a noob when it comes to this stuff.
People install "blow off valves" because they think they sound "cool". If you remove that aftermarket valve you will want to make sure your factory valve is still in place.
