Default Random Fault

Hey there
My Volvo C30 has developed a random fault where a whole array of warning lights will flash up then turn off. AT first we thought it was an anti skid warning sensor but the problem broadened when things like the speedo would die, or the engine felt like it had been de-rated. My wife mostly drives this car; of course when I got in it there were no faults at all.
The only other possible mitigating factor (and this seems extremely random) is that I was about to replace the main headlamp bulb and I had removed the faulty one to check exactly what I needed; so the car was being driven around with no actual bulb on the RH side.
To a rank amateur like me it seems like an electrical fault or a computer fault
Any insights would be welcomed

Removing a light bulb that is faulty has no effect , its the same as leaving it in as the circuit is broken
You need to check fault codes to see what is wrong
