This sub-forum doesn't get much love, so I will try to answer the best I can. The most common failure in the front suspension of newer models is the Spring Seat. It is a hard rubber piece that isolates the coil spring from the body. What happens is the steel core separates and tears some of the rubber with it. The resulting sound resembles creaking or moaning when the wheel is turned, and a thunk when going over bumps. Is that what it sounds like?

If so, expect to pay about $50 each at the dealer for the part or about $500 for them to do both sides and an alignment.
