Hi guys, bought my 2008 C30 in November. I love it to bits. The only thing I really dislike about it is the sound coming from that engine. I've done a lot of research and understand that a cone filter can give it more of a "grunt" sound. I've seen many videos on youtube of before and after adding one. And hey, if it adds a couple horsepower along the way, it's for the best!

Could you give me any advice on what air filter to get and a general idea of what needs to be done? (for example do I need to remove the airbox completely or just change the filter and place the lid back? Do I need anything other than the filter?)

It's a 1.6 Petrol by the way (Don't hate, insurance in the UK is unnecessarily expensive on larger engines and sporty looks)

 

There are many folks that do just what you mention, but the stock induction system is pretty carefully designed. Also, if you change it, you'll have to figure out what to do this the ECM, which is integrated with the air box for cooling.

How about exhaust mods?
