Default Volvo C30 HID (Xenon) lighting kit

Hi Guys

I recently purchased a C30 2.0 and I am interested in finding out about a HID (Xenon) lighting kit that I can install as to improve lighting. As I am not technical I would like to know if anyone has had positive experience with a kit on the C30 and if so which brand / model to look out for as well as pricing & ordering info.

Thanks! :-)

Are you looking for OEM or aftermarket?

You can purchase an aftermarket kit for $150 with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Which is cheap compared to what HID's used to cost. And trust me the kit is quality. I own one.

http://www.sharphid.com/
The link above is where you need to go to purchase your kit. John from SharpHID will take good care of you.

What you need... I will make a short list. You don't currently have a OEM HID setup right? If so this is what you want.

1. H11 style bulb 55w, you can also go 35w as well.
2. You want a bulb temperature between 4500k and 6000k nothing more nothing less. All you get with a higher temperature rating is a color change. The brightest or most light output is from 4500k-5000k.
3. Get the Apexcone kit from the link above. The one with the LIFETIME WARRANTY.

Thanks for the prompt reply - really appreciate that!

Does the SharpID kit differ in any way from the Volvo OEM kit in terms of performance? As I do not currently have any OEM kit for my C30 this brings me to my next question - how hard is it to install this kit and would it void my warranty on the vehcle?

Regarding your list - are all of these items included in the SharpID kit or should I order them seperately?

Thanks!

Just an afterthought - please could you help me regarding the major difference between the 35W and the 55W bulb?
Would both of these run at the same temperature?
Would the kit need adjustng or would it run at the ideal temperature? (between 4500k and 6000k)
Would I be able to use the original Volvo lenses? Ideally I do not want to hange anything but the bulbs as to enable the HID kit.

Thanks!

I don't know what an OEM kit looks like or how they act. I will tell you that a SharpHID kit is going to cost you much much less then an OEM kit.

They are very easy to install. 30 minutes per side, simple. As for it voiding your warranty I cannot answer that. It may, but it may not.

1. Would they run at the same temp? You have to elaborate on that for me.

2. The bulb temperature is exactly what it states. If you say you want 4500k that is what you will get. If you want 6000k that is what you will get. In this case bulb temperature means light output.

3. You should be able to use your OEM lenses, I don't think anyone makes aftermarket lenses yet for this model Volvo. Maybe the OEM c30's that come with HID's have different headlights, maybe you should look into buying those and putting a SharpHID kit in them.

"The warranty on all kits and bulbs covers both the bulbs and the ballasts if either should fail for any reason due to defect during the stated warranty period. It does not cover failure or damage caused by the owner. All warranty claims are processed through us and take place within the U.S. If you purchased your product from us then we have your information on file along with your receipt. Any warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser of the product - warranty is non-transferrable. An RMA form will be provided to warranty any parts. You are responsible for all shipping costs associated with sending a product back to us. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service such as USPS Priority, FedEx, UPS, or DHL. We ship all parts back to you via FedEx Ground or USPS Priority (international customers only)."

Don't forget u got bulb warning system = if your bulb burnt out will display a message on your message center... installing an aftermarket HID system may trigger that message.

I always suggest VVME HID Kits. They're the cheapest, and a lot of Audi people love them.

Just google "VVME Ebay Store"
