I have a 1998 c70 ht coupe and it has the air pump system that feeds into the side of the airbox. The nipple coming off of the side of the airbox has been broken off of the box since we got the car a couple months ago. I reatached the hose and noticed that it is blowing water onto the air filter. I pulled the hose off and heard a gurgling sound from down by the air pump. I am going to try to drain any water out of the hose and see if that helps.

I was also wondering if there was a good way to remove that system without throwing a CEL. It seems grossly unnescessary since there is no emissions testing where I live.

I was looking at IPD's intake system for the car and it looks like the air pump doesnt even pump air into the system, it just blows through the tiny filter in the side of the included heat shield.

Is it correct to assume that the air pump is unneeded then? Can I just take the whole thing out and just cap the hole in the airbox, or get an airbox cover from a car without the air pump?
