Hello! I have a 2000 (sorry, not a 2001) C70 Coupe HT and the SRS light came on. I bought an Autel reader and was able to read that this issue is the driver side airbag (in the seat). The Autel has a setting to reset the fault but when selected it states that it isn't supported. I brought the car to my local mechanic and he doesn't have a volvo reader so he "manually read the code" associated with the SRS light and got the same code I got. He unplugged the green connector under the seat and reconnected it and the light went off. He told me that is all he did. So I'm assuming that if you fix the issue the SRS light will automatically reset. He drove it for a few days and the light stayed off. It stayed off for two weeks then came back on. I brought it back and they diagnosed it by unplugging the airbag connector and plugging in the right resistance to the connector. They said that the SRS light went off indicating that the issue is on the airbag side. So, is it true that if you fix the fault the SRS light will automatically reset. My mechanic is telling me something different than what has been reported here.

Anyone know what resistance the system is expecting to see from the airbag? Is there a manual procedure to reset the SRS as they used some manual procedure to read the codes (how did they do this?)?

Update - talked to the actual mechanic, not the owner, and found out that you do need to reset the code after fixing the issue. My guess is that is why my Autel reader couldn't clear the code as the issue wasn't fixed...
