2004 C70 start issues.
Hello,
I have looked and looked on line and cannot find anything conclusive about how to fix my c70's starting issues. I am finding it hard to believe that no one has been able to resolve these issues. Please if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.
1) 90% of the time when I try to start my car (any time of day) it will turn over but then will stall. I then have to wait 5-10 minutes and try again. Sometimes it starts, if not I try again. I have found one thing that helps, if I put my foot on the gas simultaneously to starting it, rev the engine it seems to "catch" and then doesn't stall. But if I don't do it just right, it doesn't "catch" and will stall again.
2) If I leave my car idle for more than 2-3 days, the battery will die completely and I have to have it jump started. I travel a lot and this is very inconvenient I keep jumper cables in my car and have AAA but I would like to find a way to be able to leave the car and know that it will start when I return. The battery is less than a year old, this should not happen and this is the 2nd battery I have had in this car.
I am afraid to take it to the Volvo dealer, that they really won't know how to fix it and will just try and try things at endless expense. I bought the car used and don't have the $$'s to keep spending on it, and then not be fixed.
Also, I live in Baltimore MD, does anyone recommend a place to have it serviced. Very hard to find people who will work on Volvo's other than the dealerships, which can be very expensive.
Thank you!!
