Question Brake Pedal goes WAY down...?

Hey Guys,

This is my first post. I actually just bought my son a 2004 C70 HPT Convertible.

I noticed during the test drive, that the brake pedal goes WAY lower than I expected...almost to the floor. Is there a way to have that adjusted or is that a problem I need to have looked at?

Thanks,

Most likely a problem, and a dangerous one.

I guess I'm asking if its normal for a Volvo that the brake pedal needs to be depressed further than most cars?

I would have to drive it to know what's normal, but if there is any doubt, take it in. There is no adjustment. It could be a leak in one of the brake lines.

Default Brake pedal

Several things can be causing this problem. 1 Low brake fluid, I would check all 4 caliphers for a leak. 2. Air in brake system, fill brake fluid at master cylinder and bleed all 4 wheels according to OEM instructions. 3. Bad master cylinder, rebuild or replace. 4. Bad brake line, replace. Good luck.

I had the brake lines bled and that did the trick... Brakes feel much better now...
