Default C-70 Antenna Mast

I have a 2001 C-70. I replaced the mast once because it was bent.....recently I had a clicking sound that would occur when the mast got to the fully extended position; the noise only occurred when it goes up. I was told to replace the mast and I did....it was ok for a week or so then the clicking started again. The mast that I removed seemed fine, no missing teeth and the nylon tail was full length.....suggestions?

Ignore the noise. As long as it works don't fix it.

I have had the same noise on electric antennas before, it seems to be the mast is trying to raise past the full up position. The sensor is suppose to kill the power when fully extended. Mine clicked 2 or 4 times then stopped. Never hurt the operation, I lived with it for 3 years. You might look @ the grounding of the mast. A good ground will have less than 1 ohms of resistance with an anolog multimeter. Don't use a digital as they apply a potential. Always use an anolog to measure ground!

Thanks for the feedback....what is strange is that for some time after the mast replacement it was fine, no noise....then it started again.

I get the if it works don't mess with it but the thing that is troubling is I trouble shot this with Antenna masts r us and they suggested after checking a few thing to replace the mast. I did and all was fine for like 2 weeks, then it started again....if there are any other thoughts let me know

I replaced the mast on my daughter's 1998 S70 with a generic one from a local parts store. (My fault entirely. I drove it through a car wash with the radio on. I know, I know. Duh. That moment of stupid cost me fifty bucks and a couple of hours of an otherwise lovely Saturday afternoon. Again, DUH.) The replacement would strain against the limit stop for a couple of seconds until a thermistor heated up, then it'd shut off and the radio would be fine. No "end of travel" limit switch or anything like that. Just a thermistor that would heat up and kill the motor when the end of travel was reached.

It's been years, so I don't remember the brand name of the unit, but I got it at Advance Auto Parts if that's any help at all.

What's the best place to buy parts (online) for a 1982 Honda C-70 Passport?
I've just purchased a 1982 Honda C-70 (Passport) and I'm having a little bit of a struggle finding an online retailer for after-market (or original) parts. I've looked on eBay but I had hoped to find a site more centered toward the Passport / Cub series. Does anyone here have any reputable sites they wish to share?
