Default C70 "total electical failure"??

2006 C70. Wife was sitting at a stoplight the other day and all of the sudden: the windshield wipers came-on, SRS airbag urgent service light came-on, fuel and oil pressure gauges quit, doors won't lock, window's won't go-up, trunk won't open, roof won't retract but the radio still works! Local Volvo repair code check revealed nothing. 3 dealerships contacted via phone and they had never heard of such an issue. Did some searches on-line, and seems to mirror 2004 XC90 issue of main computer module failure. Anyone ever seen this in a C70??

My 1998 C70 I can easily remove both my computer modules. If you can uplug/remove 2 minutes reinstall. Start car, drive 15 min to re-learn computer. This has reset computer in 3 vehicles I own.

Similar thing happened in my new 2012 C70. The battery was dead when I returned to the car. Jumped it, tire pressure light came on, urgent service message came on, could not lock doors from the outside and interior lights would not turn off. Dealer didn't know what was wrong but reloaded the software. That seemed (knock on wood) to take care of the problem.

Default Electrical Failure

Look @ the electrical relays. Alot are the same, used to do different things. Buy 1 good 1, try it in different locations to see if a relay contact is bad/shorted. Worked in my F-150. Just food 4 thought. Volmo suggestion good also!

My 2006 C70 did this about 7 weeks ago. Hooked up OBD reader and said electrical failure, anti skid brake failure, transmission issues (cant remember) and I lost power steering and also some variable power failure reading. Took battery to Oreilly and had a dead cell. Replaced it for 130 dollars and then 5 days ago red lights came on again. Limped the 3 blocks home and not even enough power to get up the incline on driveway. Charged batter and got into garage. Drove to Oreilly and bad diode on alternator showed up. Bought new altenator (265) and belts (65) and tried to replace myself. When realized had to shift motor, I stopped and reassembled and took to GM dealer. They replaced alternator and said they could not reset the red lights. Their machines show it is charging. I'm going to run it around town a few times tonight before taking it to the nearest volvo dealer 130 miles away, to see if fixed. Plus still need to replace the *^$% oxygen sensors pre and post cat converter. Maybe time to trade it in. Only has 58K miles if some one wants to make offer.
