I was quoted $500 by three different mechanics to clear code p 2402 EVAP leak detection pump on my 2010 C70. They said they had to take the muffle off, a tire off, etc.,etc. I could not get the car register until check engine light was off. But $500. Man. On a whim, I called a guy off the Nextdoor app. He seemed to know what he was talking about. He wanted to try and cleaning the gunk off a sensor under the hood first. He said sometimes it’s just dirty. Well wasn’t he right? He cleaned the sensor and the check engine light is off and stayed off. $160. I saw another post that said a guy had driven the car with that code through a car wash that had under chassis high pressure wash. He said the check engine light went off from that. I never added anything on a forum before, and I know nothing about cars, but I really wanted to share this tip.
