Check Engine Light
Hi all.
My check engine light on my 2000 V70 came on about a month ago, and I have not yet brought it into the dealership to get it checked out. My engine temp. is running normal and I have not had any sounds/issues with the engine since it has been on.
I heard that if you only screw the gas cap back on, two clicks, the engine light might go on... is this true? It may be the issue.
Thanks,
Conrad

Hello, If the gas cap is not on tightly, say, 6 clicks, it might leak and cause a code and Check Engine Light. There are many sources for a code and light. Congratulations if this is your first ever code. Get it read by using a parts store's reader-IF it communicates with your car. The AutoZone loaner reader I tried once wouldn't recognize my Volvo. Just buy one. It'll pay for itself real fast. Kira
