Hi everyone. I just purchased a 2002 Volvo C70 HT convertible with 100k miles on it. Everything is great with it except the convertible top doesn't open or close all the way. When I close the top, the two hooks at the end won't go into the back end and lock, causing the car to beep whenever I drive. Then, when I open the top, the car makes a loud buzzing noise and doesn't close entirely, causing the same beeping noise to ensue while driving. This has led me to look for multiple ways to get this fixed, and I still have not found the solution. Ideally, I would get it so that the top maneuvers well and opens and closes without any issues. However, I honestly would just like the beeping to go away.

If anyone knows what I should do, or if anyone who has worked with these Volvo tops previously and is able to advise me, that would be much appreciated. If you are in the Williamsburg, Richmond, or Newport News area, I would be more than happy to pay you for help with fixing this issue.

Hi, I have a 2005 C70 with simular problem, diag shows 2 micro switches are at fault, left rear and front right also says out of line? I can manually open and close it using the manual tools but getting it done with Volvo is over 1k.
To stop the horid buzzing noise is a task and a half, you need to remove the cover under the steering colum and I would recommend taking the driver seat out as well as you need to get upside down, in amongst a mile of wiring you will see 5 to 7 relays way up inside, most are grey in colour there is one green one a red one and a light blue one, you need to remove the light blue relay which is the hardest to get to as it is the very top relay with very little room. Good luck on fixing.
