ETS warning light
I'm a newbie and have checked topics for this problem, but found none that mentioned it. I have a 2001 C70 and recently the ETS dash warning light came on. The manual says its an electronic throttle system and that drivability will be effected when the light is on. However, I've noticed no problems, but I want to get it fixed. Any ideas on what the problem could be and what it'll cost/take to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx guys
Very typical and has been talked about a lot.
ETS = Electronic Throttle System.
The part that is affected is the ETM = Electronic Throttle Module.
1. There is a software update and it should be covered under warranty from what I remember. If not it is like $50-$100 for the software update.
2. The ETM can actually be replaced by Volvo only. This should also be covered under warranty if not expect to pay upwards of $1200. I had to pay $920 to replace mine and then we got a refund check later.
Also is it coming on and then going off or coming on and staying on?

Thanx for the quick reply. After I posted, I felt like a jerk because I found other topics about it. However, the light is coming on and staying on. I'll take it to the local dealership today and see if mine is still covered under their warranty.
