Default Front brake pad question

2000 C70 LPT coupe w/17" wheels...
Many parts stores show front pads both with and without sensor wires - will either work?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure why that's an option, as Volvo doesn't use sensors.

by sensor wire, do they mean the design where there's a bit of wire in the pad to tell you (via a squealing noise) when they are worn? Not sure of the point to that assuming you check the pads regularly and assume you will want to replace the rotors when doing new pads... as noted Volvo and most OEM brands don't have that design. A bigger choice is on the pad types you go with. OEM is "organic", after market is semi-metallic (bits of metal in the pad to extend wear and lessen dust) or ceramic (also lowers dust and has better resistance to brake fade due to hot pads). I've done all three and I'm back with OEM on my 850...

No! My 98 C70 won't take the pads with the sensor pigtail as they are to large for the caliper. Why Autozone indicates both pad sets 4 this car?

That was why I was asking - Autozone does it again!
