Default HID install

so I bit the bullet and bought a HID kit off of e-bay. The price was under a hundred with shipping, so i figured if it sucks then its not as big of a loss.

Well the install was kinda crappy, as I had to drill 2 holes in the dustcap since the original bulb socket came from inside the housing. So it took a little longer 2 figure that out.

Now here is the problem, I turned my DRL's off since I've heard that they can cause problems with the HID's and to lower my lamps running time. And when I turned on the car and flipped the light switch.....only the passenger side lamp lit up. Now I didn't have time to check it totally out. But the original factory socket, looks like it cracked a bit after pushing the connectors into it. Could that be why it won't fire? And if so, how hard is it to just put in a socket? Also, are there individual fuses for the headlights? cause the fuses that are inline for the HID's did not blow. I'm gonna go over it more thoroughly in the AM, but if anyone reads this prior to that and has some experience....help a brotha out!

Thanks

ok, so I found out that I guess from that little crack, the current arced and blew the fuse. So I found the fuse replaced it and now they work like perfection! Quite happy!

But now I need to figure out a place to secure the ballast! I have a 99 C70, does anybody have pics of their HID install and their mounting? Thanks!

Either use some heavy duty velcro and put on on the battery and the other on the ECU box.

Or use some zipties and find a secure location to ziptie them tight to.

Thats a good idea about the velcro. I totally forgot about that possibility! I'll take a look into that! Thanks!
