Default manual boost??

hey guys newbie here just got myself a c70 and love it its a 2001 2.0 lpt its got the common window whistling but im sure i can sort that. my q is can i use a manual boost controler on this as ive heard it can cause issues? or should i save for a ecu upgrade?? as it just isnt quite fast enough. thanks guys

Welcome to the forum.

No you cannot use a MBC. ME7 cars do not like MBC's at all. An ECU upgrade is the way to go if you want to raise your boost levels.

However I suggest doing a complete STAGE ZERO first, which can be found in the link provided in my signature. Also a boost gauge is warranted as well.

cool thanks im glad i asked so is mine a me7?? also do you know if a dump valve will cause any probs if i gofor the ecu upgrade? are any dump valves better than others?? il post some pics soon. cheers j

1. Yes you are ME7. Any Volvo 1999+ is ME7.

2. No a dump valve should not cause any problems ever. Other then running rich for a split second when it goes off. Also if your automatic you will only hear the sound when you let off the gas.

I suggest an HKS SSQV first a foremost, TIAL is very good as well.
