New 2011 C70 - Tire Pressure Question
Greetings,
I am new to this forum and new to Volvo. I picked up my 2011 C70 at the factory 2 weeks ago and have put 3,000 miles on it so far. Love the car.
This evening, I checked out the tire pressure and it was 48 PSI in all tires. This seems alarming high to me. The tires were cold. The car has Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 235/45 517. The tire is rated for max pressure of 51. The sticker on the inside of the front door recommends 36 PSI all tires.
I can't understand why Volvo would have put that much pressure in the tires. Should I lower the pressure to 36 or am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Bob

i would!
maybe they put that much in there cause tires go flat just sitting on the lot over time.
i would get yourself a really nice digital or snap-on analog tire gauge and set all your tires exactly at 36psi.
i'm a tire pressure **** and i can tell when i'm a half a pound out on my tires.

Thanks. I brought a digital tire pressure guage with me and that's exactly what I did shortly after writing my note.
It has been great driving on the autobahn in Germany. Finally got tired of having the Audi's, Mercedes and BMW's blowing my doors off, so got it up to 122 MPH to keep up with the rest of the crowd. What a blast. Top UP of course as the wife was afraid everything would blow out of the car....and of course it would mess up her hair!!
