not much value in a used c70
TECH, thought you might get a kick out of this. My wife and I have five autos with the old c70 being the oldest other than the Healy. I have had it since 2002 and have put appx 8,000 miles a year on it. I went to the local Volvo dealer and asked if he wanted it as we are simply tired of moving autos around. He (dealer) was ecstatic about taking it off my hands and placing it on his lot.............the auto is perfect. He felt generous in offering $5,000.00 for it. Jeez...........I should have taken advantage of "cash for klunkers".

No, I did not give it away. It's tag reads "SNOWBTR" and that is what I will use it exclusively for. I'll put it in storage for the summers. This auto is perfect and everything on it works! The dealer services it to include taking the door panels off each year and lubing the window regulators, flushing brake fluid annually, every two years changing the trans fluid and antifreeze. Timing belt and assessory belt changed at 45,000 miles, even new brake calipers. Somehow I would have thought the dealer would have wanted it since they had a service history about two inches thick on it! We have three autos in the driveway that I have bought from that dealer.............makes you wonder.

Dealer is trying to hose you. Probably because you drive a convertible as your winter car.
He think's you're nuts and it cost him nothing to lowball you. Ever consider Ebaymotors.com? I sold my HD Dyna Wide Glide that way (before the crash in prices, thankfully) but did ride it 100 miles to show it to the guy who bought it. You can put a "reserve" on the sale to block lowballers. The car's unique enough to attract someone who isn't looking for an everyday GM/Chrysler/Ford/Toyota/Honda type of ride. The listing is reasonably cheap, and Ebaymotors does offer advice to its sellers.
BTW bought my current 1974 Honda CL360 that way, too. But I went to see the bike after winning the auction before putting down the rest of the money.

Mine is a silver coupe. The excuse the dealer makes to me is that since it is so old, banks will not lend the true value for it therefor the dealer has it sitting on his lot for a long time before someone with cash appears to buy it. What a shame! 100 miles ago I put a $500.00 set of Continental tyres on it. I simply need room in the drive way. What I shall do is simply rent storage in the summer for it. JKS2, hang in there............you will find your auto........just be careful of the condition if it is over 5 years old. Most of the old c70s have not been maintained as the cost of parts and repairs are quite out of the world.
