someone please shed some light on this i bought a beautiful c70 about 4 hours ago and on the way home this ets light along with the engine management light came on,,, it this costly to repair should i look for my money back,, which i really dont want as im in love with this car,, i live in ireland so need costs in euro,, much appreciated

 

It is the electronic throttle system, I just had it replaced in the US @ $1000, the part was about $500 and labor was $500. Next at 105,000 miles it is recommended that you change the timing belt, water pump, belt tensioner all for about another $1000 (us)

 

Hi there guys n girlies,

i've just had a water pump and cambelt change on my c70 convertible year 2000 2.5 turbo and she keeps drinking water but there is no sign of a water leak? plus she has had a new expansion tank too as the old one cracked at the top? could you please assist me on this as she is booked in with Volvo tomorrow at 1.30 cheers guys

 

We need more information on your C70. The early models with the Marelli throttle body unit are more expensive to change than the later models. The later models are very cheap.

 

Hi thanks for getting back to me she's is the 2435 193bhp engine auto box 20 valve 5 cylinder petrol engine if that helps at all? She's had a new water pump and cam belt change about a 1 month ago n since then she is using water I called Volvo n they said she has a air lock n I need to drive it as she has no bleed valve on it n she seemed ok but she is using say about 3/4 or 1/4 of water a day out of a 1 litre bottle also when she is in reverse I have like a knocking noise come from the drivers side front? N if i put my foot down she does it then but she runs sweet as a nut so If you could give me any idea what this could be that would be fab thanks guys 😉😉👍👍
