Poor new headlight fit on 2006 C70

Poor new headlight fit on 2006 C70
Just bought new headlights. Left one (drivers side) fits fine, but the left one leaves over a half inch gap on the rear of it. Put the old one back in and it fits perfect. Any ideas?
