So I had my radiator fan replaced as it was throwing codes. After the replacement I noticed that I couldn't open the hood without gloves because it was so hot. Also the air seems to be blowing from the fan upward. Is it possible that the polarities are mixed up and the fan is spinning the wrong way. Should the air be flowing toward the radiator or away from the radiator. Thanks in advance.

 

The fan sucks air through the radiator - the same way ait would be pushed by the movement of the car (going forward)

 

So just to clarify the fan would be blowing toward the engine, not the radiator?

 

if the fan is mounted behind the radiator - between the engine and the radiator- yes
