Default Rear tire wear-C70

I have a '07 C70. Going thru another set of tires where I am getting extreme inside wear on rear tires (only 20k miles). Can this be related to the weight balance of the hardtop in the trunk since I usually have top down most of time and the the springs/shocks are set based on top being up? I've heard others say that maybe the cambers need adjustedI'm fustrated as all my other (non-Volvo) vehicles' tires usually get 60-90k miles. I do alot of highway so I should continue to get decent miles. My OEM tires got only 30k miles. I've had car aligned twice in the last year and rotate about every 9-10k.

Smile Response about tires.

The C70 comes with summer only tires and a warning they are not for winter driving at all.
Soft rubber, low profile and grippy. (18")

I got another set of wheels (17") with Blizzac tires from the tire rack for winter driving. Set cost about 250.00 per corner which including the tire and wheel.

Just swap tire and wheel sets take about 20 minutes.

One other interesting thing is that the C70 has differential braking on the rear.
The center of gravity does change with the roof in the rear. Hence, the computer scrubs the rear brakes to
help the car steer. My C70 is the first car I've owned that
needed its rear pads replace BEFORE the front ones!
That's how much more braking the car does with the rear brakes when turning. Like dropping an oar in a kayak to turn.

Thumbs down

I noticed the same thing with my rear tires that the inside had significant more wear than the outside too.

I just have my whole set replaced as the front tires are almost totally worn out after a mere 24000 KM. Spoke with my tire specialist, he said the stock Pirelli PZero Rosso tires they put on our cars are super performance tires that our cars unlikely can make full use of their ability. The drawback for these tires are that they get worn out really quickly. I now have a more toned down version of the Pirelli, the PZero Nero and it is driving well. I was told that these replacement tires will last longer.

As for the uneven wear of the rear tires, a number of people talked about it at different forums.

I wonder if it has anything to do with alignment at first but seems to be that it is a common thing and alignment will do nothing to fix it?
