Replacing center tail light on 01 C70?
Hey all,
The center brake light on my 2001 C70 convertible appears to be blown. As far as I can tell, the owner's manual doesn't list any way to replace this part. As I look at it, it appears that the individual bulbs can't be replaced. Indeed, accessing the part is difficult as it's in the part of the rear deck that folds up to let the top tuck away.
Am I wrong about this? Can you not fix this without taking the car in for service?

It has been a while since I payed attention to the third brake light assembly on the convertable.Look and see if there is torxes screws holding the lens in.Or look from underneath and see if you can remove the socket to replace the bulb.
It could be an LED display, but it doesn't look like one to my eye. The individual lights looked larger than LEDs and there weren't that many of them. But if it were an LED unit, that would explain why it wouldn't be user-serviceable. And, yes, that would definitely imply electrical problems.
Are you sure they had the LEDs in for the '01 model year?

I am positive for the coupe. I truly do not know what is in the convertible.............I did look in my manual but it is coupe specific and so I cannot help you in that respect. Why not simply call the dealer "parts" dept and ask?
