Default Replacing the front right strut mount - '98 c70

I'm no mechanic but have changed my own brakes and what not before, not a total dullard mechanically. How rough is it to replace the front right strut mount, I would much rather spend $100 than the $500 i was quoted for the repair. From what i have seen this seems relative straight forward, how hard would it be to do with a chiltons type guide and some free time. Is there anything I should take into consideration, special tools or techniques? Any ideas or feed back would much appreciated.

You will need a spring compressor.

Have you ever messed with changing struts before?

If not I would think hard about tackling it.

It could be very Dangerous. I have seen damage from people trying to change things like this before and the compressor sliding off and the spring launching like a rocket.
It left 2 holes in the ceiling of the shop.

Thanks, i was wondering about a spring compressor but wasn't sure. Probably going to just buck up and pay, as much as i enjoy shooting things across rooms probably not parts of my car.[sm=goodidea.gif]
