more detail please?? when u fold seat up manually does the whole seat move foward? When you return seat back into original position and push latches up and will it move back to the original position? If not your microswitch spring may have fallen off...

there is a service kit for that issue. u have to drill a hole on the side of the seat hinge and install a spring and a screw and attached to the piece of metal that pushes against to engage the micro-switch. if u are not familiar to do it get it to the dealer (CAN HAVE MECHANICAL SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG INSIDE and cause it to set off on your face if udon't knowwhat u are doing) SERVICE BULLETIN # 85-0017 they will hate doing it but it will save u an arm and an leg on a new or a used seat or control panel or a module or what ever they will try to sell u..... TRY that first... it's a well known issues.. I hope that helps

Default Seat micro swich

Purchased switch with bracket on line $15, $32 @ stealer. Removed seat & replaced switch & bracket. Before attempting seat removal look @ outside hing located below seat lever. You can see a metal arm that suppose to have a small spring attached to it. The other end of the spring is attached to the micro switch bracket. Mine has come off twice, with seat in reattached to metal arm, had to remove seat to reattach to switch bracket. Black switch bracket spring holder tab is straight back from metal lever on 1998 C70.

Be sure to attach red safety cap to SIPS before working on seats!

Hi HNT

although they suggest you install the red safety clip I did mine without doing this and there was no problem

Besides the fact I couldn't see any red safety clip to attach

Good luck

The vehicle only comes with 1 safety cap, red, to be used on seat needing repair. Drivers seat is the factory installed side. Easily removed & installed.
