Yes the timing belt runs the water pump. Make sure the thermostat or upper hose isn't leaking back and running down the front of the motor.

Also get in there with a mirror and look while it is streaming out.
Hmm, i'll dig into it a bit more this evening. According to Volvo of Dallas, this car had its timing belt replaced 20k ago. Do the stealers generally do a water pump then as well?

Normally no not unless it is leaking.

If you were close I have my pressure tester home and could have hooked it up!

Aye, that's how it always is lol. I'll dive into it later tonight, might even make a video with my new phone that apparently takes awesome videos. Also, i lost a little bit of trans fluid when pulling the lines off. Where is the fill? I completely couldn't find it last night and it was probably because i was pissed and tired. It's just about time to drain and fill the fluid, as there's about 25-30k on the new trans. What's good? I have some Amsoil synth ATF laying around, although i'm sure synthetic is not what's in there currently. Is it worth it to use that?

You fill it through the dipstick tube which is a PITA to find alot of the times!

Your tranny I believe uses the Mobil 3309 fluid. You might just want to check 100% to be sure.

Is there an alternative or is that about all they take? It's the Aisin/Warner transmission if that matters.

There is a toyota fluid that is the same. Also Valvoline highmilage stuff would work as well not sure if they still make/sell it.

oddly enough i know exactly where to get some of the Valvoline High Mileage stuff locally. I'll probably use that. Going out to the car in a bit after class is over to see if i can locate the leak. Can i see the water pump by removing the upper timing cover?

You will need to remove the upper cover then the front one.
Once the upper cover is off take the coolant bottle and P/S bottle and set them on the top of the motor and remove the one screw and slide the front cover off. Then you can see it.

Ugh. I suppose when I moved the upper rad hose it became a tad brittle. It was leaking out the bottom near the t'stat and trickling down the side of the motor. G/f is back on the road and not going to kill me. Whew. Thanks for all the help everyone!

She took off from a light today on the semi-highway (70mph with stoplights) and got into it with a newer Mustang GT. Okay, so the newer mustangs are 300hp, explain to me how she walked it? Mustang was definitely on it too. The end was about a half car length to the C70.

LOL not really sure!!! I know these things can pretty much do better top speed. But not sure about the city. I haven't had the pleasure of running one yet i wish I would have. Except the fact then when I get in it hard from a stop at about 25-30 when boost kicks in the tires will spin like crazy so that might hurt me a little.

Tell her I said nice job!!
