Speaker sizes??
I have a few questions about the speakers in my 2002 c-70 coupe. First of which, what sizes are they, since some need replaced from the previous owner CONSTANTLY blasting the music and blowing them. Especially the center speakers, that one needs it the worst. And second of all, how many speakers are there actually in this car??
Thanks in advance

I don't know the sizes, but I will tell you this.
Don't go to the dealership and get replacement speakers. They are a rip off. I had a 1995 850 NA. My rear deck speakers went out. They wanted $150 per speaker for replacements. I said thank you and walked away.
Go aftermarket. Yeah the stock speakers might be great speakers, but for a replacement the price is going to be off the wall.

The dash are pretty smal speakers. I think 3 inch or 4 inch.
The Doors I believe are 8 inch plus you have tweeters.
The center I think might be a 6 inch speaker.
Does your car have the subs?

yeah mine has the subs. Its funny though, because on the best buy website, when you do the vehicle fitment, it says that the front speakers are 10" and the backs are 6x9's. hmmm, I am buying from best buy just because I get an amazing discount there, but I want to know EXACTLY what size I need first.

If you have a TWEETER near by go there. They do great work. I had all my audio done by them when I have the 1995 850 NA.
Last I checked there is no 6x9's at all in the C70.
The front's are 8's
The rears if they are in the rear hat shelf should be 6's
I believe your car should have a total of like 12 speakers or something like that.

Call your dealership and ask them what sizes they are. Or GOOGLE your car and find the specs on it.
And again please don't go to BEST BUY. Prices may be tempting, but BEST BUY sucks in general.

I just replaced my speakers in my car, and I'm not impressed. I kept the factory HU, only 'cause all aftermarket ones look like they fit like crap. I ended up getting Alpine X, and S series. I find that any bass makes them distorted. I only have 8 speakers, not the upgraded system. so maybe yours will sound better with more low end sound.....
I'm half temped to rip it all out, and pay the crazy dealer prices, just to get it sounding good again.

Well there is a total of 11 speakers in the car, and the speakers in the rear shelf look like they are AT LEAST 8"s, but I think they are fine, I just need the front doors, and the center replaced, sounds like the center is blown. Also, My highs suck in the car, I have played with the settings for hours, and I have it set up to the best highs i can get, but my girlfriends kia sorento still sounds so much clearer with the highs which is pathetic. So I don't know what I should put in the front to get some better highs.
I disagree with s70! The newer c70's use Dyaudio speakers which are state of the art similar to Bang and Olfson. You cannot do better. Yes, they are costly but then again...............if you want good sound...... go with the best.

BEST BUY sucks for Volvo car audio. I wouldn't get close to buying from them. Nor Circuit City.

Also the stock speakers are made by DynAudio which are really excellent & high end plus they have been designed specially for the C/V 70 interior acoustics.

Please keep your personal problems with national retail chain Car Audio stores to yourself. I personally work for one of them and my brother works for the other and they're both are great for basic info & needs. If there specs are wrong with what fits in your car then correct them, dont be an ***, have class-You drive a Volvo now.I noticed they only provide sizes for 4 of the 10 speakers i have.

I don't think I ever said the c70 speakers were crap. I believe all I said was they are exspensive as hell from the dealership.
