Hey guys, I just bought a 99 C70, not sure of how the sound system in it is yet. But in my old car I had a pair of Infinity Kappas, that I don't want to lose. They were 6 and 3/4" speakers. Will those fit in this car? Or should I just sell them. Thanks

 

If you have the upgraded radio...........pro logic surround sound............then you have Dynaudio speakers made in Denmark. Whereas Infinity Kappa's are a good speaker...........they are no where close to the Dynaudio speaker that comes in your C70!

I'm not sure, haven't taken delivery of the car yet. But if they aren't the dynaudio speakers, will the Kappas fit?

 

The front doors are I believe are 8 inch and a set of tweeters.

 

How about the rear deck speakers? Anyone know what size they are?

 

They are oval...........maybe six by eight. They are a composite speaker. If I was not so into the weekend, I would go to the drive and measure them for you. However............if you have the 'up graded' rradio, you will have 12 to 14 speakers (depending on whether you have the sub woofers) and they are perfect! I too have some Kappa's in one of my autos.............front, rear, and the sub woofer............and I can tell you that if you have the 'good' radio there is absolutely no comparison between the Dynaudio and Infinity speaker............the Dynaudio is absolutely state of art. I am sure if you go to the web and punch in Dynaudio you will obtain a wealth of information on them and you can then make your choice. Lastly, the Volvo uses rivets to hold the speaker in the housing and therefore you will be looking at some modifying if you go the Infinity route.
