Hi to all,

For the past few days I have been getting what sounds like a grinding noise when i accelerate.. If the engines not accelerating there is no grinding noise. The noise sounds a bit like metal on metal (grinding), Im pretty sure its not the wheen bearings as it only happens under acceleration. Can anyone shed any light on this before I take to a mechanic incase I can sort myself.

If you can narrow down the area where the noise is coming from would help to give a more accurate reply. Things I would inspect would be motor mounts, exhaust hangers and heat shields.

 

Don't exactly where the noise is coming from as it only happens when Im driving, when im accelerating. As soon as the accelerator is released the grinding noise stops......
