Timing belt replacement

Timing belt replacement
I was wondering what the book time is for doing the timing belt and water pump on my 2009 C70? Independent shop wants 1,100 to do the work. I am leaning towards doing it myself. I'm not a mechanic, but I am a retired bodyman and painter. Should I do this work myself or let the shop do it? I think the price is kind of high and am new to the area, so I don't know about shop reputation. Any input would be appreciated.

I bought the genuine Volvo kit that just has belt, idler and tensioner pulleys. Was only $120. Got the aisin water pump for $45. This is first timing belt change for the vehicle so I might opt out on water pump if it looks like a headache to change. Do I need to lock the cam sprockets down to do the belt change? That's about my only concern so far. Thanks for the input that I have received.

I have a 2008 C70 and want to change both belts myself. Curious what part(s) you had to remove to get to them. Saw one DYI video where the guy said to remove the passenger side wheel well cover. Is that all you had to do to get at it? Any specific tips or videos would be greatly appreciated.

Remove right inner fender liner. Remove rt. Motor mount, it sits in front of the timing belt cover. Put a Jack and wood block under engine before removing mount. Remove external drive belt. Remove timing belt covers. Line ep cam and crank gears with timing marks for each gear. Loosen the tensioner and remove belt. Replace rollers and tensioner. Install new belt. Set the tension. Install Parts in reverse order. Hope that helps. Did this job a few months ago, I'm going from memory, and I'm an old guy whose memory isn't that good.
