Default Volvo Diagnostic software

Hi,

Can someonweconfirm that if there is something wrong with your volvo and you need to diagnose it electronically, you HAVE to take it to a Volvo shop because they dont sell their diagnostic software to anyone else?

Thanks

you dont have to, I bought my own scanner and do it myself... any auto shop should be able to do it.. as long as they have the software, and most of them do

You can scan the "common" codes with a generic scanner. You don't even have to buy it, most auto parts stores let you borrow it (with a deposit) (autozone, checkers, etc).

For the volvo specific codes, you need Vadis software. The scanner I think for Vadis is pretty expensive and thus many shops don't have it, but there are shops that have the software (look for Volvo shops). I remember Tech saying that his shop has the software/scanner.

We have the Vadis(Thanks to me) we also have another one that works good on the Volvo's called Programa. I always use Vadis I like it better and also used to it. I have been using Vadis for almost 10 Years now.

Default where do I get this

Hey all - my 2001 s60 2.3 has a "check engine" light that comes on when I first start the car and then goes off after a few minutes.

Any ideas how I can fix this? I would like to buy this scanning equipment and do it myself, if possible. Is there a special cable I can buy or do I have to take it to a garage? Links would be appreciated.

I have VIDA installed on a laptop and it's a pretty neat tool. Be careful when you buy the scanner though, lots of bad ones from China out there.

Default PPC BSR Volvo Diagnostic

I have a PPC diagnostic from BSR that read all the codes and not just environmental. Let me know if you're interested. I used it once.

as #2 said, you don't have to, you can buy your own scanner and do it yourself ....just a little difficult first but after trying you can save more.

I drive 2010 volvo v50 also have a maxipro mp808 scanner in my car, it really useful.

you also can view my maxipro mp808 scanner (http://www.diagmart.com/products/aut...nostic-scanner

), put it in my garage is the best choice
