Default What year did volvo fix the throttle body?

I had a 2001 C70 HPT, that had throttle body problems a couple of years ago. I'm now lookng for another big convertible and nothing else seems to fit my needs (comfort, some luggage space, quality) better than the C70.

Before I dive in again, can anyone confirm what the local deal said, that Volvo replaced the throtte body that seemed to fail after 70k miles or so with something much more durable, after the 2002 model year.

And has anyone directly compared the current hard top version with the HPT version of the rag top?

Mine was a lot of fun to drive and the reviews of the current version indicate it's not go anything like as much get up and go

Thanks!

And hi to Tech - appreciated the way you helped me out several times

I know on the S60,S80,V70 the 2003 models had a different setup.
But i haven't seen enough of the 2003 and up C70 verts to be able to tell you for sure if it has the new setup.

Hi Back.

In 02 the NA motors had the Magnetti Marelli ETM and the Bosch was in the Turbo models. I think prior to that they may have both had the M-M one. In 03 I'm pretty sure that they had gone totally to the Bosch one. Anything that is Turbo from 02 on should be OK. You can see the module by looking at the engine (front right). You should be able to read the brand of the ETM. Hope this helps.
