I am mystified. I bought a new XC60 T8 Inscription. The "Charge" feature always defaults to off when I start the car. I select this feature and then update my key profile, but it does not stick. Is there a way I can default the 'Charge' feature to be on when I get in my Hybrid XC60?

The dealer told me that if the car is in charge mode, the battery will not power the car. As he explained it, the battery can either be powering the car or getting charged. Can’t do both at the same time. So if you are in hybrid mode and you turn on charge, the battery will not power the car. That’s why charge is not a default option.
The real question is why the car does not automatically go into charge mode when the battery is dead. When the battery has no charge, it can’t do anything in hybrid mode anyway. So why doesn’t it automatically go into charge mode? Makes no sense that a user would have to take affirmative action to charge a dead battery.
