XC90 XC90 T8 2017 vs. 2018
Hello All,
1st post....here I go. So I have been doing some research on a future purchase of a used XC90 T8. As I am reading and comparing packages, options, and year models, I see some small differences in the EV only range that is rated by the EPA for different years. I was wondering if this is a hardware difference or a software difference (OTA) updates from Volvo for the different years. See below for the different values that I am seeing per the window stickers on different Volvos.
2016 14 EV miles
2017 14 EV miles
2018 19 EV miles
2019 18 EV miles
2020 17 EV miles
2021 17 EV miles
What do you guys think is causing the difference? Anyone who owns a 2004-2006 TL may remember HP-gate with the TLs (270hp versus 258 hp...sorry sore subject and something about SEA hp metrics update yea yea....fubar).....

I'm a new XC60 T8 owner and the EV range is slightly higher (probably due to less weight). I'm primarily an urban driver and on several day's I've selected 'Pure EV' right after starting to check the range before it reverted to Hybrid. It seems to vary a little probably due to traffic, red lights, and speed but so far I've gotten between 18 and 23 (almost no stops or speed over 45 on that one). Vehicle details on my Volvo app list the car at 5862 lbs. I was surprised to see it that high.
FWIW, 1st impressions are this is one of the best 'New' vehicles I've ever purchased. Not looking in the rear view mirror at all.
