Default How to read the Trip Computer - XC60 Recharge

I'm not really following how to read this trip computer on the 2023 Recharge T8. Some things are obvious like how many miles I drove since the last manual trip reset and the total miles on the car. The rest is unclear. And the owner's manual had almost no information. At least it seems to be pretty accurate with estimating miles per gallon. I just did an old-fashioned calculator check with my fillup today (16.6 gallons for 1153.5 miles driven) and came out with 69 miles per gallon. The numbers under the Trip Auto section are most mysterious. Anyone know some details?

It's slightly different than my '21 T8 but not that much. Looking at yours, it appears as 'TM' is Total Miles and 'TA' is total average per trip. Does that make sense to you?
Your model went to the newer Google system and mine was still using the 'SENSUS' system. I can get to Google maps if my phone is plugged in however, it's a smaller screen for the map then when using the Sensus map. My car has been trouble free and a joy to own and drive.

Thanks Cruiter. I'm not sure if that's what it means. Would TA Miles mean that I drive an average of 26.8 miles each trip? Maybe so, but what would 587 mpg represent in that case, or 0:39 h?

Yes, both are probably correct. On mine, I can fill up and go two months or more without buying gas. I'm retired and Publix and/or Costco are no further than about 7 miles each way, so average mpg is off the charts high. Yours is no doubt the same however, I'm sure you've found that in those situations your MPG goes down rapidly if you run the batts down and you start burning gas. Then MPG goes down rapidly. It will record extremes in both directions.

I believe that the TM data is cumulative unless you manually reset it. The TA data is automatically reset anytime the car is parked and off for more than a few hours (I think 4 hours?). That way, you can always look at TA to see the stats for your current trip (and they may indeed show extremely high MPG if you have charged the battery). The TM can track mileage for longer road trips or between services or any other need you may have.

Thanks! I get it now. So the TA was showing my latest ride (after the car had been off for at least 4 hours presumably). And in that 39 minutes (and 26.8 miles) that I had driven, my average speed was 41 and the mpg was a very wacky 587 due to it being on all electric. Problem solved. :-)
