Has anyone put a non-Volvo hitch on their XC40 Recharge? If so, were there any negatives? I believe my dealer wants $2k to buy/install the fancy one. That’s a lot of duckets just to use a bike rack. I’m thinking a normal one from uhaul for a couple hundred is doable. But I assume that would interfere with the kick-open liftgate. Anything other downsides?

Edit: My Volvo dealer said the swing-away hitch was not available for the XC40. They can put a fixed-hitch on… for $1600. LoL, right.

 

Check to see what's available on e-trailer.com I've used them (albeit not for a fancy retractable hitch) and they have a lot of good content on their site.
