XC60 S60 recharge hybrid mode question
I've had my 2023 S60 recharge about six weeks. I drove the 130 miles home from the dealership in hybrid mode with 70percent battery charge at the start and 12 miles of range left when I got home.
Last weekend I made a 100 mile trip and used most of the battery charge within 50 miles in hybrid mode. I started with a 100 percent charge.
Seems my car is wanting to run more in "Pure mode" even when set to hybrid mode.
Also, a few times the rear wheels have spun in gravel on our country roads while getting to the highway. Am I supposed to have on demand 4 wheel drive to avoid this when in "hybrid" mode?
Best Regards,
Gary

Regarding battery usage: did you set a destination with Google Maps on one of those trips, and not the other? These models have something called "smart energy distribution". From the manual:
Just wondering if that may have caused the difference in battery usage you saw between trips.
In the driving position Hybrid the car is powered by both the electric motor and the internal combustion engine. If a destination has been selected in Google Maps, the car calculates how the electrical energy should be distributed as energy-efficiently as possible for the whole mileage. For example, the calculation includes speed limits, traffic, and elevation differences.
This is good info I had not stumbled upon in the manual. I picked up my new 2025 S6 T8 at a distant dealer (500 miles) in June and quickly depleted the battery, but didn't try to figure out a connection to the navigation. This also brings me to the question I was sorting through when searching this forum -- shouldn't this board include the S60 plug-in hybrid models in addition to the S90 (note that the 2025 model year no longer labels these as "Recharge" apparently to avoid confusion with the EV lines)? Questions like this certainly don't belong in the general S60 board.
