So, there was a power surge at my place this weekend and my car was plugged into a 120 outlet. Ever since my XC60 indicates that, when plugged into the 120 socket, that it is “initiating charge” and stays in this status. The supplied Volvo cable does not indicate that it has an error (e.g. displays red status light). Volvo power receptacle displays yellow light, and does not go green.

I tried unplugging from the car then the wall, waiting a few mins then re-plugging in. No change. I tried bring to a ChargePoint level-2 charging station, and the XC60 charges no problem.

Called the dealer and will bring in the car tomorrow for diagnostic. Anybody ever have this happen to them?

 

Took the XC60 to the dealer today and brought the charging cable along. Turns out that the cable went bad! Dealer replaced as it was under warrantee.
