Our 2023 XC60 with about 6000 miles usually charges between 42-46 miles at !00% overnight charge on a 230v circuit. Just brought the vehicle back from the dealer for a 1 year service and it now charges to 49 miles at 100% . Any comments or ideas ?

 

This is my 2nd T8, 1st was a '21 model w/Sensus Nav and the 20-mile battery. When I picked this one up, it was already charged and showing 48-mile battery range. I drove it for a week around town charging every night and not using gas at all. Yesterday, I took a round trip of about 130 miles which left it running in Hybrid mode by the time I returned. After charging all night, it said 100% at 40 miles. It's what they advertised so I can't gripe unless it goes to below that. This is my 3rd PHEV and loving it.

 

Interestingly the 100% charged range has been from 42 miles to lately 50 miles and I am a little confused why the 100% rate has such wide range. I did take a picture of the dash in case I need to make a warranty claim on the battery.

 

My new '24 T8 that started with the ability to charge to 48 miles has slowly lowered the available charge to 38 miles. Not sure what may be causing that.

 

Hi Cruiter, 38 mile range would not make me happy. My wife plugs in every time she parks for the evening, even if she only drives four to five miles and lately 43-45 miles stated range, the range does fluctuate. It would be interesting to get a professional Volvo answer.

 

My XC60 Recharge recently had a breakdown requiring towing to nearest dealer to rectify (see my thread). The Hybrid Generator Control Module needed replacing and software was reloaded/updated (not the regular over the air software update but a dealer only update). I have now noticed that the estimated range of a full charge is about 72km whereas previously it was about 59km. Sounds like a similar software related increase in range
