Default '00 S40 - How do I test fuel pressure?

Hi all,

You can browse my longer more detailed post on my issue here:
https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...g-steps-71242/

I'm going to grab the affordable fuel pressure kit from Harbor Freight. Do I just press this kit's gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail and crank the engine? Should I "splice" this in at other points along the fuel route? I just didn't want to dismantle too much fuel stuff, I could probably put it on the fuel filter outlet.

What should the correct PSI be at these points?

Thank you!

It should screw onto the Schrader valve and you should have about 45 psi

I tested it last night and I do have about 45 PSI. Could a Fuel Pressure Regulator still be faulty with accurate PSI in the fuel rail? The FPR vaccuum pipe does not have any fuel in it so I'd initially say it was OK. Am I able to remove the fuel rail keeping the injectors and FPR in place on the fuel rail with the injectors out of the intake and see how all four injectors react? Of course I will properly shield the spray ...

Thanks!
