01' S40 Cabin Air Tutorial
This is how it went for me, your experience may differ.
First remove passenger side kick panel behind the glove box. There are two phillips screws just behind the glove box hinge. Most postst say there are screw holding in the filter, but not for this one.
A little prying in the right spot and the little cover falls off.
Now reach in and grab a tab on the filter and pull down. It should come down easy and then you will need to bend it to get it out. This is what the filter looks like after 50,000 miles. You should change yours more often.
Nasty!!!!!![:'(]
Now put it back together correctly. Start with tabs down and open ribs to the right.
Bend it in, snap your cover on and screw the kick panel back into place. Now vacuum up the leaves and you are done.
My filter @ local parts store $19.80+tax
Time: Approx 15 mins (you mght as well vacuum the rest of the car)
