01 S40 P0133 B1S1 slow response
Hi all. Pete again, mechanic from Rhode Island. Long time Volvo lover, one time Volvo owner, heh. Still would LOVE to do a 5.0 Volvo 240 swap someday. That's on my list of things to accomplish.
I'm trying to get a buddy's car inspected. It has a P0133 code, Bank 1 Sensor 1 Oxygen sensor slow response. OBD2 cars in Rhode Island can nothave a check engine light on for inspection.
I popped a new sensor in (Bosch - as much as I dislike the company it's the only one I could get). According to the Datastream in my Genisys scan tool, it was going back and forth in voltage like it's supposed to. I thought all was good and I took it for a test drive to get the monitors ready. Code came back! Darn thing. (Hey, at least its not a Volkswagen...)
According to my research, there may be a small "adapter harness" I need to attach in between the sensor and the engine harness to solve this problem.
That, or the ECU needs to be re-flashed. I'm hoping it's not the latter because the dealer will probably charge me up the butt to do so.
What do you think my best route of attack is? Try the harness? Any idea how expensive it is from the dealer?

That's the website I was reading.
Thanks everyone.
