Default 0128

So i know my check engine light is on because of a code reading 0128. This is the coolant temp sensor right? Anyone ever changed this out themselves? Is it easy to get too? Is it worth doing myself? My mechanic wants 200 to do it, says it will take 1.5 hours to do...anyone know if this sounds right? Also someone on another post suggested changing the thermostat as well...should I do this too?

Easy to change. Sensor is screwed into the thermostat housing and thermostat is held in by two torx screws. I changed the thermostat at the same time (recommended).
I bought from IPD - Great site.

I bought the cheaper of the two sensors ($30 instead of $60) and had no problems since.
I also bought their timing belt kit and water pump.

Thanks I'm going to go ahead and do myself... money is tight lately ya know!..now for the idiot question..i don't do a lot of engine located work on the car...where is the thermostat located? also, once this is done, the code won't reset itself will it? Can Auto Zone or someone else reset the code to turn the Check Engine light off?

The thermostat housing is on the front of the motor. Best way to find it is to follow the upper radiator hose to the motor. There is 2 screws in the top half of the housing holding it to the motor. Then once the top half is off it will be easy to get the sensor out. The sensor is located in the front of the lower half of the thermostat housing.
