02 s40 starting difficulty?
just inherited a 02 s40 (as mentioned in my other post) from a family member and while its in good condition there are a few minor things I would like to take care of.
I noticed its been struggling to turn over...it seems to crank and crank and crank and then finally ..vroom! I did some research and some said it could be the fuel pump.. but that was an s60.
I also repaired the "U" shaped gas line the goes to the throttle body as I noticed it was dry rotted, cracked, and leaking fuel..not good!..but thats fixed.

Sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator. There are many threads here describing the issue of long cranking times. If the U shaped line you are referring to is the vacuum hose connected between the throttle body and the FPR then it's not supposed to have fuel leaking into it ever....
