05 S40 transmission problem
I bought an S40 in march of 2005 and since then I've had this transmission problem where if i slow down and the trans downshifts from 4th to 3rd and u start to accelerate in 3rd again the car bogs, sometimes massively where u get jerked forward and sometimes just a little bit as if u hit a bump, i've taken it to volvo service for it 5 times, they only took it in 3 times becuase they know that if they take it in a fourth time and they cant fix it they'll have to give me a new car, its been 2 years and they still wont take the car in, they advisor keeps saying that they've called volvo in sweden and are trying to get an engineer to fly down here to personally look at the problem....BULL****
what i want to know is, has anyone on this forum had this problem or knows of this problem and if so, can u scan and send me the repair order or any feedback as to what i should do, because i'm sick of this problem, the car now has 36xxx miles and is out of factory warranty but we had bought an extended warranty good for 8years/85,000miles so i'm thinking theyre just waiting for my warranty to expire and bam the engineer will show up for me....how should i deal with this, should i take it to another volvo dealership, have them try it 4 times and lemon law it, i really want to figure a way out to lemon law it
oh and one more thing, volvo has never been able to "duplicate" this problem
and i've had check engine lights come on at least 3-4 times a year, sometimes they'll blame my parents saying they didnt tighten the gas cap enough and that makes the check engine light go off, ive tried to talk to everyone and their mother at the dealership, nothing is happening in that branch, im thinking of taking this to court/attorney general, ive heard thats an option

Where are you located?
Have you tried calling Volvo Cars of North America if you are in the U.S.?
If it shifts like that all the time make the Service Manager drive with you and show him what happens.

I assume they have done a transmission computer software upgrade? I would try another volvo dealer and see if they would be willing to help you with your problem like Tech said. It sounds like it may need a new tranny.
I live in chicago, I've had the sales manager drive it and it didnt happen, i've taken techs on drives with me and it hasnt happened, and then i pull out and at the first turn it happens and i yell "son of a bitch", i think i'm gonna take it to another dealer see if they value their customers more
thanks for ur input guys
where can i find their number, i bet any money service wont give me the number
